Here's a sample of my original tunes, updated in October 1999.

It's very gratifying when others play my music, so feel free to download and copy these tunes for your personal use or public performance; all I ask for is credit. For any other uses, please contact me. If you like what you hear, I'd really like to hear from you, especially if you have an interesting arrangement to share.

The sound files for these examples are General MIDI using the piano patch (GM1), with tempos as I like to hear them. Click on the [title] to hear the tune, and click on [sheet music] to see it.

Absent Friends [sheet music] -- an old-timey waltz in G major for Dianne McHugh, Bill Lowe, and others who are with us no more.
The Children of Dunblane [sheet music] -- a slow march of rememberance in D major.
The Heart of Jeweler's Row [sheet music] -- a slow air in A Dorian for my friend Kate Price.
The Heritage Polka [sheet music] -- a polka in D, for the Southern California Dulcimer Heritage.
Polska Macabre [sheet music] -- a polka, actually, in E minor.
Waltz from Orange [sheet music] -- a lively waltz in D major.
Whale Oil Polka [sheet music] -- a polka in D major. I wrote it for a band named Stinkeye (really) and it's good enough for them. :-)

Listening to MIDI files

Virtually all PCs and Macs built in the last few years should be able to play MIDI files with no trouble. If your PC has speakers, it's probably equipped for MIDI. If your computer will play other MIDI files but won't play mine, please let me know. For more information about MIDI files, including how they're created, go to A Basic MIDI Primer.
